  • What can you take for headaches?

If anti-inflammatorys are unsafe, is aspirin safe to take if you have CKD?

Tylenol is best because aspirin thins the blood. If you have no blood clotting problems aspirin is probably all right. I take aspirin as a blood thinner with the approval of my nephrologist.

It's best to check with your nephrologist. When I was first diagnosed with CKD, I was told in no uncertain terms to stay away from Advil, Motrin (Ibuprophen meds) and Aspirin and any med containing any of those. I only take Tylenol.

Oh, so Tylenol is safe?? I thought Tylenol and Ibuprofun were the same thing.

Tylenol is Acetominophen and is safe for kidneys. Ibuprophen is Advil and Motrin. Tylenol, in large doses, can harm the liver.
