  • Losing weight and Kidney disease

I am trying to lose weight and still be conscious of foods that are not recommended for Stage 111 kidney disease. Does Davita provide weight loss diet plans that are recommended for those with kidney issues? I have about 20 lbs to lose.

Stop eating all sugar if you currently eat deserts, granulated sugar, candy, etc. You will drop a good 10 pounds in a few months for good. Stop eating bread and switch to tortillas or buy thin slice breads. Cut back on potatoes, pasta and rice. There's another easy 10 pounds. One has to give up things you have liked in the past. Eat Salads for dinner with raw vegetables added and a small amount a protein like Tuna, meat or chicken. Use a vinegar you like the taste of and add a small amount of Olive oil to that mix. There is no sodium in vinegar or Olive Oil. This would be a great start for you and will kick start a great diet going forward. Many healthy people live this way.
