  • Medicare and Tricare for Life

My husband currently is on Medicare as primary and secondary through my employer. If we did not have my secondary insurance through my work, how much would Tricare for Life ( 22 yrs active duty/ retired) cover as secondary? I am working on the assumption that Medicare pays 80%. I keep hearing that Tricare and Medicare come from the same bucket in the budgets. Thanks!

Did you receive any information? I am Medicare with TFL also. Just slid down to 3b, so am wondering re coverage also. I do see my PCP on Monday, list of questions in hand.

I have Medicare and TFL also and I search on the internet if a medical facility/office/physician will accept Medicare. If they accept Medicare, they are obligated to accept TFL also. However, I was diagnosed as having hypertension while in the military and as such the local Veteran's Hospital will provide dialysis treatment should the need arise.

Yes, I work a 12 hour night shift. I dialyze at night on my off days and during the day before I have to go in at night. It is as close to "normal" for me as I remember.

We need to understand clearly what is free and what is paid. Now it's all about economic gain. bob the robber

Now I think there is not that big difference between Tricare and Medicare. What matters is the option you choose and how much money you are ready to pay. It’s all about money in the end, and if you don’t want to pay too much, then it can be a good idea to work with a specialist. You cannot know all the peculiarities of those insurance contracts, and that’s why I cooperated with Remedigap Medicare Experts to get personalized service and to be confident in my plan decisions. It was a way to put my mind at ease and not waste too much time trying to understand which plan was better than the others.
