New to PD -- wondering about PD belts -- anyone use them?

I've been doing PD for over a year and I've never seen nor heard of them, even when expressing frustration with coiling the catheter and covering it with a large rectangle of fabric medical tape. But I just looked them up and now I'm tempted to get one. I'm always so self conscious about my catheter being seen, even when I tape it down. But this seems like it would be much easier. And if you have an active lifestyle, those belts seem like they would be beneficial for you. I'd say give it a try. If you don't like it, just revert back to tape. Lol.

My husband uses them, and loves them. He has 2 different kinds: Stickman dialysis has the best one for him, info@pdbelts.com has another. Be wary, though, we ordered him a medium, and it is really too big, so check sizes carefully.

My nurse at Davita was saying at my last appointment that several of her patients ask if anyone's exit site looks like the picture because theirs never does because of all of the tugging they experience during the day and at night while they're sleeping. Mine always does because I always wear my belt except when I'm in the shower and then I wear the mobile. If you're having exit site problems because of tugging try a PD belt and wear it all the time and always follow the cleaning/sterilizing process after showering and it should work for you too.

Hi, I'm been on dialysis for about 4 months now. Started PD a week ago. They gave me a belt at training and it was so uncomfortable and the tape loop kind kept falling off. Bought the pd belt from kidneystuff.com and just loved it! Just bought a 2nd one and I might order their shower mate and their Beep Away Spring. Hoping that helps with kinks and subsequent alarms! Its definitely a new way of life and hoping I can keep it up until a transplant. I do this all by myself and it was intimidating at first but now it's nice and easy. Thanks for being such a fantastic resource to a newbie! You all rock!!

I have 2 of them and I really like them. I got mine on Amazon.com. It's more comfortable than the stiff one I got from Davita. It's breathable also. https://www.amazon.com/Breathable-Pe...6-05ac39e80cc0
