I started dialysis 01/17/2020. Today 04/01/2020 I decided to share a few notes about my experiences so far.
- I learned fast everyone reacts to dialysis differently
- Talk to other patients at the dialysis center about your and their experiences
- At my dialysis center there is a nurse, nutritionist, social worker, and doctor. Utilize them and take time to review information they provide you.
- If you feel well enough at dialysis treatment , organize , create to do list.
- Ask about Kidney friendly foods and liquids
- Apply for Medicare, In my case I had ESRD so I was eligible automatically
- Pick a time for dialysis that fits your schedule. My center has three ****s
