  • Revela and Lactose balancing act?

I have a gfr of 20. With renvela my phosphorus is acceptable. That's the good news. Bad news is the HORRIBLE constipation. Never thought I'd never learning to use a snake at 70! Doc told me to take the label dosage for a few days and then "titrate." Easy for her to say...I go (no pun intended) back and forth between not enough and too much. So I am still uncomfortable and anxious much of the time. BTW, I'm not on dialysis. Anybody else have this issue? I'd like to hear how others deal with this.

Lactulose is what my Dr. prescribed for me and it works but I cant get to far from toilet. I have tried prunes, dates only to have my potassium elevated. Beware high potassium is dangerouse

I will eat more green beans, thanks. Im curious...are you taking the full label dose every day? I know everybody's different, but sometimes it doesn't kick in for several days, and then I have a lot of bloat and cramping. Any advice?

Have you tried a stool softener? Something like Colace. You can buy a store brand (it's cheaper)
