Its So Cold

When the door swings open,
I hesitate… then enter in
The smell of death surrounds me
I find it hard to breath

It’s so cold, Gloves, blanket, hat, still cold.
I look around the room
Dozens more like me.
Each fighting their own battles.
But everyone is cold.

Finally it’s time to leave,
Only on the way out.
The door this time is different.
It’s now a huge revolving door
As we all leave
More step through the door
They start to feel the cold.
The Battle never ends.

My husband is fine,
my kids are fine,
my mom is fine,
my siblings are fine,
I can feed myself,
I can dress myself,
I can toilet myself,
I am fine,
thank you, my Lord, my God!
Everying is fine!

ps my puppy is fine.
