Hi Ive been looking up all over the internet about the topic of coffee, before I was in the hospital recently I drank a lot of half calf coffee, after getting out of the hospital I stoped drinking it for fear of doing damage to my kidnsys, are small amounts ok? Or should I avoid I all together?Tags: None

One cup of coffee is acceptable on a kidney diet. It contains 116 mg potassium and is low in phosphorus and sodium. When you add milk, the potassium and phosphorus go up quite a bit so you may want to stick with cream or limit milk to 1/4 to 1/2 cup. If you do not need to restrict potassium you can be more liberal with the amount of milk..
