  • Cramps

Hi there. My father gets dialysis and he has terrible cramping. The thing, though, is that he?s always been susceptible to cramps even before he started in 2018. Any ideas why that is? What he could do? It?s tough hearing about his pain. Has anyone else experienced this?

They could be taking off too much have them raise you dry weight a little at a time see if that helps

Have you called his dialysis center to ask why this would happen and what to do about it? Make sure you are listed on the chart as one who can receive information directly from the center. Be persistent in asking for whatever information you need from them. In my opinion, Davita as a company does not see the value of a caregiver. If they did, each and every center would have some way of including us as part of the care team. Frankly we're the ones who are asked our opinions about a given center and the level of care received there. My husband just started dialysis and the number of people who have asked if I'm satisfied is amazing.
