  • Wanting to travel to Australia

Hello, my husband has been on dialysis on 4 yrs now and I want him to live life. I recently lost my father and brother and I want to go back home and take my husband with me. This will be the first time for us to travel together out of the country. I'm trying to see exactly what I need to do to make sure everything is ready. Please if you could help I need to bring life back into my husband.

Hi lanulangi, many dialysis patients are able to travel internationally! Have you reached out to the DaVita Guest Services team? You can contact them directly by calling 1-800-400-8331 or emailing guestservices@davita.com to speak with a travel specialist. They'll be able to address any questions you may have and figure out the best plan! Best of luck to both you and your husband. Have a great weekend!

lanulangi, 1st ask your clinic for all the documents they send for when someone travels to another clinic. Once, you have that then contact several dialysis centers in Austriala that are near to where you plan on staying. Sometimes, it might be a hospital. Once, you speak with them they normally ask what type of treatment and since you have the documents you could either fax or email to the location in Austriala. Always, ask for the price per treatement it could vary that's why I said try diff locations. Also, not sure of your medical insurance but you might can get that reimbursed. Good luck, enjoy!!
