  • How to Treat IBD with Kidney Disease

I've been doing battle with IBD, out of the hospital now and recovering at home with fluids and soft foods. The CT showed a lot of damage in my colon --thickened and inflamed. I've gotten no real treatment for the IBD in years. I was on an anti-inflammatory drug--asacol -- that kept it stable but was taken off it. because I wasn't showing inflammation on blood work. I don't want to go back on it if it may make my kidney problem worse.
My C-Reactive Protein is off the chart at 3.5 mg/dl, so there's a lot of inflammation again. My Creatine while in the hospital was 1.2 mg/dl, and eGFR was 48ml/min (59 before I became sick). So how to get the inflammation under control and protect my kidneys from any further damage?
